This coming Friday and Saturday we will be playing The Fowler Bowl which is the only board competition dedicated to our higher handicappers and sponsored by our past double Captain and now club Ambassador, Brian Fowler. No doubt Jack Riley the current champion will be all out to retain his status for another year!
The event is a mixed stableford open to all ladies and gentlemen with a personal Handicap Index of 19 and higher.
NB John White will liaise with all the regular Friday Mixed stableford players regarding tee times and format for this Friday. All other qualifying members should make their own arrangements to play as you would for all other board competitions.
Brian will make the presentation to the winner at a later date but will be present Friday and Saturday to observe!!
Whilst on the subject of competitions, a polite reminder that it is the Seniors Monthly Medal this coming Tuesday 06 July. From October we will reposition the seniors monthly medal/stableford back to the second Tuesday of the month.
On Sunday 20th June, they took on the Longest Day Golf Challenge and were heroes for the day. A massive thanks to Phil, Stacey, Andy and Simon!!
At 0500 hours in the morning they started their challenge to complete 72 holes of golf in one day and it couldn’t have gone much better. The rain held off and 12 hours and 8 minutes later they nailed the final hole and in doing so raised £1085.62p!!
"Thank you all. A very special thank you to Princes Risborough Golf Club for hosting the event and to the members who allowed us to play through. A very special thank you to Sarah and the clubhouse team and Trisha Harwood (chef) for looking after us throughout the day, you were absolutely fantastic. Good luck to those competing today wherever you are. Phil and the team."
