Welcome to Our Beautiful Golf Course
Princes Risborough Golf Course was designed by Ryder Cup Star, Guy Hunt and has been delighting golfers for over 30 years! Nestled within an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,' our course offers breath-taking countryside views and a warm welcome to all visitors.
Experience the Best of Golf
Flexible Play Options: Guy curated the course to maximise the enjoyment, challenge and flexibility of play. So whether you are looking for a quick 5 holes in just over an hour, 9 holes in circa 2 hours or to change tee positions and play the back 9, completing 18 holes in circa 4 hours, the course makes time your friend not your enemy. We have light snacks available for you pre and after your game, we can even offer refreshments at the halfway house after 9 holes.
Short Game Academy: Sharpen your short game skills and enjoy fun practice sessions on our new Short Game Academy practice area.
Rain Rarely Stops Play
Thanks to our chalk and shale ground composition, Princes Risborough Golf Course boasts excellent natural drainage. We rarely stop for rain, ensuring, as far as is possible, year-round play on high-quality tees and greens, unlike some clay-based courses nearby. During the rainy season, we welcome guests from miles around to enjoy our course.
Location Perfect for Weather Protection
Our course is thoughtfully built on the leeward side of the hill, providing protection from the harshest and wettest weather conditions. Golfers can enjoy drier and warmer conditions year-round, free from the worry of excess flooding.

It's all about location
Building the course on the leeward side of the hill is protecting the course (and golfers) from harsh and wet weather. As a result golfers can enjoy drier and warmer conditions. In addition, golfers can play the course all year around without fear of flooding.
An Enjoyable Course Whatever Your Playing Standard
The course offers an enjoyable challenge to golfers of all ages and abilities. With cleverly placed trees, lakes, and bunkers, Ryder Cup star Guy Hunt's vision for the course comes to life. Each hole requires thoughtful shot-making decisions, no wonder that at Pro-Am invitationals, very few Pro's beat par. As Guy aptly put it, PRGC is "tough on the mind, yet easy on the knees". The gentle slopes and contours make the course enjoyable rather than a slog; everyone can enjoy a great game, take in some fresh air and get fit and healthy. For those who need it, we even offer buggies to ensure the best possible experience.
National Nines Championship Course
Our greens are renowned for their quality. We're constantly investing in state-of-the-art 'green grooming' tools and equipment, ensuring consistent excellence. This dedication has earned us numerous nominations and the honour of hosting the National Nines Championships four times.
Convenient and Welcoming
Don't just take our word for it — come and experience the course for yourself! We're conveniently located , with car parking for over 100 and very near to Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Thame, Chinnor, and Wendover.

Welcome to our Beautiful Golf Course
Princes Risborough Golf Course has been delighting golfers for over 25 years! We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful golf course. You will be playing within an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, with wonderful countryside views. Designed by an ex-Ryder Cup Star to be tough on the mind but easy on the knees!
Giving you more opportunity to play
Golfers can play our Par 68 golf course as...either a 9 or 18 hole course. As a result, they are making time their friend not their enemy. Short of time? Why not play just the front 5 holes, returning to the clubhouse in about an hour. Or play the front 9, returning you to the clubhouse in just under two hours. Preferring to play a more leisurely 18? no problem! The back 9 Tees off from different locations presenting a fresh challenge. Additionally, golfers wishing to play 18, can pick up some light refreshment at the half way house after 9 holes.
Rain Never Stops Play
Probably nature's greatest gift to the club is providing the chalk and shale ground composition. Because the golf course is benefiting from such excellent, natural drainage we never close for rain. So, you are welcome to play our high quality Tees and greens all year around. Rather a contrast to some of the less fortunate clay based golf clubs nearby. During the rainy season, our club looks forward to welcoming guests from miles around.
It's all about location
The second of nature's blessings is that being built on the leeward side of the hill protects the course (and golfers) from the harsher and wetter weather. As a result golfers can enjoy drier and warmer conditions.
Tough on the Mind - Easy on the Knees
The course presents an enjoyable challenge to golfers of all ages and abilities, all year around. Furthermore, the clever placement of trees, lakes and bunkers all support Ryder Cup star, Guy Hunt's vision for the course. "When a golfer is tired of Princes Risborough Golf Course, he is tired of life". Each and every hole forces the golfer into making thoughtful shot making decisions.
Probably for some however, one of our greatest upsides is that while your body is getting the exercise that it needs, the gentle slopes are very easy on the knees. We are also able to offer buggies should walking too far ever become an issue.
National Nines Championship Course
While our greens have a reputation for being among the finest, we are always looking to improve them. We are investing in state of the art ‘green grooming' tools and equipment, improving quality and consistency. Focusing on quality and consistency is resulting in ongoing recognition. Most noteworthy perhaps, delivering the club a record number of nominations for the National Nines Championships, hosting them four times.
Convenient and Welcoming
To conclude, please don't just take our word for it, come and try the course for yourself!
