Golf Course

Welcome to our Beautiful Golf Course

Princes Risborough Golf Course has been delighting golfers for over 25 years! We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful golf course. You are playing within an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’, with wonderful countryside views.

Giving you more opportunity to play

Golfers are playing our Par 68 golf course as either a 9 or 18 hole course. As a result, they are making time their friend not their enemy. Short of time? Why not play just the front 9, returning you to the clubhouse in about two hours. Preferring to play a more leisurely 18? no problem! The back 9 Tees off from different locations presenting a fresh challenge. Additionally, golfers wishing to play 18, can pick up some light refreshment at the half way house after 9 holes.

As a bonus, golfers will soon be enjoying our new Short Game Academy Course. You will be developing your short game skills and having a fun match in less than an hour.

Rain Never Stops Play

Probably nature's greatest gift to the club is providing the chalk and shale ground composition. Because the golf course is benefiting from such excellent, natural drainage we never close for rain. So, you are welcome to play our high quality Tees and greens all year around. Rather a contrast to some of the less fortunate clay based golf clubs nearby. During the rainy season, our club looks forward to welcoming guests from miles around.

Golf Course

It's all about location

Building the course on the leeward side of the hill is protecting the course (and golfers) from harsh and wet weather. As a result golfers can enjoy drier and warmer conditions. In addition, golfers can play the course all year around without fear of flooding.

Tough on the Mind - Easy on the Knees

The course presents an enjoyable challenge to golfers of all ages and abilities, all year around. Furthermore, the clever placement of trees, lakes and bunkers all support Ryder Cup star, Guy Hunt's vision for the course. "When a golfer is tired of Princes Risborough Golf Course, he is tired of life". Each and every hole forces the golfer into making thoughtful shot making decisions.
Probably for some however, one of our greatest upsides is that while your body is getting the exercise that it needs, the gentle slopes are very easy on the knees. We are also able to offer buggies should walking too far ever become an issue.

National Nines Championship Course

While our greens have a reputation for being among the finest, we are always looking to improve them. We are investing in state of the art ‘green grooming' tools and equipment, improving quality and consistency. Focusing on quality and consistency is resulting in ongoing recognition. Most noteworthy perhaps, delivering the club a record number of nominations for the National Nines Championships, hosting them four times.

Convenient and Welcoming

To conclude, please don't just take our word for it, come and try the course for yourself!

We are in easy reach of Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Thame, Chinnor and Wendover.

We pride ourselves on having a warm friendly atmosphere at the club and very much look forward to your visit.
