Clubhouse Team Update

Sarah’s Autumn/Winter Clubhouse Team is now in place, and we’re delighted to share the latest developments.

Welcome to Inara Walls – Hospitality Supervisor Apprentice (Events)

Congratulations to Inara Walls, who has now begun her apprenticeship specialising in Events Management.

Event supervisors play a vital role in coordinating the wide variety of functions hosted at the club — from golfing competitions to business meetings, conferences, conventions, parties, weddings, wakes, and new initiatives such as developing fresh business ideas like Afternoon Teas at PRGC.

We are extremely proud of the work we do in helping apprentices begin their careers, both in the clubhouse and out on the course.

Bronnie – New Development Responsibilities

We are also delighted that Bronnie is continuing with the team, taking on new development responsibilities for stock management and the pro shop. Her progress over the past year has been outstanding — well done, Bronnie.

Chloe & Jake – Part‑Time Support

Inara and Bronnie will be supported by Chloe and Jake, who continue to work part‑time alongside their full‑time education.

Thank You to Our Summer Team

A huge thank you to Charlie and Rich for their fantastic support over the summer. They have both been amazing. You’ll still see Rich from time to time, while Charlie now returns to Loughborough University, where he is studying Industrial Design.

Clubhouse Refresh…

We’re pleased to share that the car park refresh is now complete, with just the new signage to be installed shortly. A huge thank you to Jacko (Alan Jackson) for all his hard work, and to everyone who has fed back so positively — it’s great to hear how much more efficient, organised and welcoming the area now feels.

Jacko has now moved inside to support our autumn clubhouse refresh. It’s still a work in progress, but the reaction to the new Farrow & Ball Green Smoke feature walls has been fantastic.

Princes Suite

The Princes Suite is nearing completion, with:

a new Green Smoke feature wall
new high‑quality picture windows to maximise the stunning views

Thank you to everyone who has shared such encouraging feedback — and of course to Jacko for the effort and care he’s put into the transformation.

Watch this space for new activities planned for the Princes Suite, led by our new apprentice Inara Walls, supported by Sarah.

Business Suite - G’Office and Boardroom

The Business Suite, G’Office and Boardroom have been one of the real successes this year, and they too are undergoing a refresh — photos below.

The demand for affordable, high‑quality office space for individuals and small groups in the local area is clear, and our upgraded facilities are proving extremely popular. A massive thank you to our previous apprentice Luke Viney, and of course Sarah, for driving this brilliant progress.

Ladies Update September 2026

P.R.G.C. LADIES SECTION

LOOKING BACK, LOOKING FORWARD

AUGUST – SEPTEMBER

As we thought, August turned out to be a very busy month with the hot weather continuing to be a challenge. The results from the midweek Stableford are already on record as is the 30+ match against Chiltern Forest.

On Monday 10^th August we played our Chiltern League match against Whiteleaf at home. Matches against your nearest club are often extra challenging. After an enjoyable game Risborough Ladies won by two and a half points to a half. This was two matches won and 1 match halved The after-match refreshments were enjoyed by all.

Two days later on Wednesday 12^th we played the Grannies competition. I believe we also had some Great Grannies playing. This was a closely fought competition with just two points between the top five players. The competition was won by Valerie Dexter

The following Monday was our final Chiltern League match for this season against Chartridge Park at home, which resulted in another home victory for Risborough by 2 matches to 1.

Wednesday 26^th was the date for the Inaugural Cup competition. It turned out to be a lot warmer than we thought but we all completed the challenge. The Cup was won by Jill Peppett with Arlinda Chaplin second and Sue Pomeroy third.

September is also looking good, as long as the dry weather holds. Having played a friendly Blue Ball competition yesterday it was good to see the grass becoming green again even though it poured with rain for most of the game !!! Thanks to the Grounds team for seeing us through the recent weather.

Friday 4^th will be the Chiltern League Ryder Cup for this season to be played at Weston Turville GC. We wish the 8 ladies in our team the best of luck in the four different formats that are included in this competition.

On Sunday 6^th we have a mixed match at home against Weston Turville. The mixed matches are great fun and we are looking forward to hearing how the match goes.

Wednesday 9^th will be the September Medal and it is hoped that a few more ladies will be available to play now that grandchildren have gone back to school.

The following Wednesday (16^th) we have a Ladies Away Day at Wycombe Heights playing the Par 3 course followed by lunch afterwards. 16 ladies will be taking on the Par 3 course, it should be great fun.

On 23^rd we are planning to play the finals of the Summer Pairs and Singles competitions and on 24^th a team of our ladies have been invited to play at Badgemore Golf Club to represent us at their Annual Invitation competition. We wish them the best of luck for these events.

The finale of our season is the Barcilon Cup – the Ladies Club Championship to be played on Monday 28^th and Wednesday 30^th September. This is the most important competition for us and to date we have 14 ladies entered. The final date for entries is Monday 21^st September.
