Captain’s Charity Day

There will be more written of the successes of the day and I will not repeat them. I simply wish to convey my thanks to all who participated whether that be as Members or Guests or those within and without the Clubhouse who did so much to present our Club to the highest standards.

It has always been my privilege to represent Princes Risborough Golf Club and its Members as Captain for 2016-7.

I have been honoured by the generosity, both financial and in spirit, which has been the pinnacle of the many successes of my Captain's Charity Day. More importantly that generosity conveys to Rennie Grove Hospice Care the respect and admiration that we have for the nursing skills and compassion that its services provide for those within the Chilterns area with life-limiting illnesses.

Big week… for the greens!! 11.09.17

Evolution Micro Fertiliser

This fertiliser is specifically designed for September usage and will help to harden the turf against disease, whilst discouraging the spread of moss during the cold season.

It is a micro granular (0.5 - 1.7mm) compound fertiliser formulated specifically for use on fine turf allowing minimum disruption to play and maximum turf response.

You will no doubt have seen John and the agronomists with their chemistry sets checking the soil condition... this is the winning selection!

This application is followed by a double groom and cut on Friday morning and the first of the Fusarium treatments!  We are attacking this nasty disease much earlier than last year and will aggressively fight it across the autumn winter period.

Mole hills…

Our resident mole on the Hole 1 ladies Tee has been served with an eviction notice!!

Humane and effective

BCLGA Juniors Championship held at PRGC… 03.09.17

Great team effort from Team PRGC!!

“Jill & Sue

Just a short email to thank you both for your help and support for our adult/junior greensomes championship on Sunday.  The girls and parents had a great afternoon and all said how much they enjoyed the course.  Even though the weather was not very good, they all came in with big smiles , and then demolished the delicious buffet that we had ordered (the chicken wings were especially delicious).

Thanks to Jill for coming along on the day and offering to play, but as it turned out we had 8 pairs, so we didn’t need a marker.

It’s so nice when the juniors are made so welcome – we chatted to several of the men who had played earlier while the girls were out playing, and they were all very enthusiastic about junior golf.  We were also given a tour of your new short game practice facility – it looks very impressive.

Fortress PRGC once again under siege, but…

…once again we held out!!

Adlwickbury Park sent down their team for a dress rehearsal the week before and were keen to win the league with a crushing victory – but it was not to be 🙂
They are the divisional winners this year and hot tip to go on to win the play offs…but we held them at home!!! Three great performances enabled PRGC to secure a 3:3 draw and thus complete the home league season unbeaten. The Wagerfield brothers once again led off with a fine 3&2 win against a very fancied pair whilst Neil Martin and Dave MacKenzie strolled to a 7&5 victory. Highlight of the day was a fine 4&3 win by John Tubb who this time was “junior” partner to the maestro Jim Findlay. So John continues his 10 year unbeaten cameo and James once again proves that skill and wisdom are an unbeatable combination. Their opponents could not believe they had lost so an even better result. The final match of the season is away at Chartridge Park on Saturday 16 September

Well played PRGC!!!

Free Usage of Ball Collector…

Manisha is modelling the latest addition to our Academy Practice Area

Any member wishing to borrow the ball collector, please ask any member of the bar staff... it is free to use and trust me, when you are picking up a lot of balls, it'll be a lot easier on your back.

Additionally, we have reduced the height of the 'rough' to maintain definition but significantly speed up ball location 🙂

Captain’s Charity Day – Friday September 15th

This year we are supporting Rennie Grove - a charity providing care and support for patients in Bucks diagnosed with life-limiting illness. They make it possible for patients to choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life.  The support they provide for families both during the illness and after bereavement is an integral part of their care. 85% of the funding required is from public donations - this is a special charity that needs and deserves our support.

Princes Risborough Golf Club are big supporters of Rennie Grove and after visiting their website we hope that you will be too

If you are a golfer or know golfers who would like to participate in this event to help raise awareness and money for Rennie Grove ...
