Lombard Medal starts next weekend… chance to play Villa Sol in Portugal…

Lombard Medal: next weekend we will be running the monthly club medal which will be the qualifier for this years Lombard Trophy. For those who do not know the Lombard Trophy is the leading PGA Pro Am event in the country and whoever wins gets to play with Bruce Loome, our professional, in the qualifier at Camberley Heath on Tuesday 12 June or Little Aston on Tuesday 05 June. The winner of the qualifier will head to a Grand Final at Villa Sol in Portugal in September. We have been successful in the past and Neil Terry and our then Professional only lost in a play off in the grand final so its all to go for. We have to pay to gain entry to the Lombard so the medal fee next weekend will be £7. This way we retain the usual cash prizes for the winners of division 1 and 2. Put your money in the box, play the medal and you never know-you could be on the first step to Portugal with Bruce.

Spring Stableford Result… 20th & 21st April 2018

I am delighted to report that we had 25 players contesting the Spring Stableford this past Friday and Saturday. This is an excellent turn out particularly when you consider we also had a seniors match at Wycombe Heights on Friday as well. The competition was keenly contested with Neil Martin the winner with a net 36 points and your truly the runner up on a net 34 points. Well played Neil. All results are on how do you do and the notice board but the points shown will be gross (full handicap) rather than the 7/8thds used in the competition

Spraying the Greens on Thursday 19.04.18

Just FYI…

We are spraying the greens with a spring fertiliser and a final fusarium treatment (ahead of the growing season) on Thursday 18th at 9am. It is not harmful to play on the greens immediately after but we are informing you as a courtesy. This will increase the strength of the grass and its resilience to higher wear patterns and lower cuts

The cutting height of the mowers will be lowered this Saturday which will speed up the greens significantly.

The following week we will be:

1) Aerating the greens
2) Spraying the fairways with broad leaf / daisy killer

PRGC Beat Weston Turville – It’s 2 from 2 in the CBL!!

We had a big win today versus Weston Turville.  We welcome a great many players from Weston Turville over the winter months and they are always very welcome guests.  They were particularly complimentary about our course and our hospitality - a massive well done to the Clubhouse and Greenkeeping teams.  This makes us two from two this year in the CBL, but our next two matches are both away to Mill Green and then Richings Park so that will be tough. All the team played well and are in good spirits.

New Signage to Stop Freeloaders

Please excuse the new signage - we have had an incident where people have tried to play the course without paying and we have put in place a checking mechanism to prevent it happening again.

CBL Season Starts with a Victory Over Newcomers “Three Locks”

Huge win last week over newcomers “Three Locks” in a marathon contest. Well done to all!! Can we repeat the job on Western Turville on the 14th? Many of them have been playing our course recently as theirs is closed due to the weather so home advantage has been diminished – Come on PRGC!!
