Whilst we lost in a nail biting 4:3 cliff hanger, this is an amazing away performance (as winning away is as rare as hen’s teeth). Even more heart breaking as our three losses were 2 down, 1 down and 2&1. We had two 5&4 wins (Dean and John) and two halved matches, Gavin and Pete Major. Could have gone either way with a bit of luck. Their course was not in great nick as it was very wet, some temporary greens and they had also hollow tined and sanded the main greens that were in use!!

We now move into the Hillman Plate which is the parallel competition for first round losing teams. This competition is as hard fought as the main Trophy. Hopefully we will get a home draw this time and get them on our greens!!
