Bruce’s April Update

Hello to all,

April is upon us and hopefully this brings with it some better weather back in the UK for you all to get out on the course as much as possible. I also hear that the green staff have been working extremely hard under very difficult conditions trying their absolute best to prepare the course to the best they can, well done gentlemen! I’m sure all the members and guests appreciate your hard work.

Laguna has been getting hotter and hotter, but still as busy as ever with over 200 guests playing daily, quite something. I have enjoyed working here and the other Pro’s here are extremely nice guy’s who have made me feel incredibly welcome. There are two Brits and one American Pro here coaching on a permanent basis, it’s been good to work with them all.

As promised I have been looking at some dates for a two day short game clinic in May and I will send a flyer over to the club to advertise this very soon. I have been looking at two, two day classes, one at the weekend and one midweek, hoping to cater for all. The weekend class looks like being the 4th and 5th, starting at 10:00 til 12:00 on both days, the midweek class looks like being Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th starting at 17:00 til 19:00. Please lookout for this and sign up as early as you can, as I only intend to take 5 per class if possible, ensuring you get maximum benefit from the time and class.

Some people have kindly already asked to get into the diary for when I am back and I would encourage more of you to please do the same so that  you can guarantee your spots for private one to one coaching for when I return. I have not changed my prices in over three years to try and make coaching as affordable as possible for all. As you know members get a reduced rate compared to non members, so please try and support the coaching at PRGC to not only improve your own games and enjoyment, but also ensure the club do have a resident PGA professional.

One or two Laguna pictures to end with….

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you all very soon!

New Men’s and Ladies Course Handicap Tables from April 1 2024 – Brown Course (Mats to Mains)

Please find below the new Handicap Tables for the Brown (Winter Mats) courses from April 1, 2024.

The main change is best explained in the England Golf Video and Infographic.

All of the changes are reflected in your new handicap tables below (and in the clubhouse from April 1).  Club V1 has also been updated so enter your scores as normal.

That just leaves you to get our there and enjoy your golf knowing that the course par has now been allowed for within the calculations.

I have also loaded the other Handicap Tables here should you want to see the impact of the changes on other courses which (weather permitting) will be open soon.

March Update from Captain Dick Pooley

Good day all,

As I write, the rain is tumbling down again and making this weekend’s events unpredictable!  The good news is that our Club has been open pretty much more than any other club in the area, in the main due to the hard work of all the greenkeeping team. Well done Jack and co, please keep it up.

Most regular players will know that March and April are the start of a busy golfing season, and I would ask you to take note of the Club Master Calendars for each month as issued separately by Al Bowyer, but also put up in the changing rooms.
