Tuesday 30th July 2024. Mens & Seniors Stableford Competition incorporating the Yellow Ball Challenge!!

Morning All

Please let me know if you would like to join in with this Competition as soon as possible. I will be making the draw on Sunday evening, probably quite late, as the California Cup is being played for all day.
Teams of three, with the normal Stableford rules and handicaps. However, for the Yellow ball competition, each team member must take turns (6 times each to complete) in getting that ball round their hole resulting in double points for that person and the team on that hole. If the yellow ball is lost, drowned, or o.o.b. the player will revert to a normal white ball and continue the Stableford round as usual, but that team can no longer feature in the yellow ball competition.
Please mark your cards (or use mobiles) in the normal way, but use the "Special Yellow ball" score cards for that part of the competition.
For the avoidance of any discrepancies, I have marked the yellow balls in a certain obvious fashion, but would ask any players who often use a yellow ball to use a different colour.
I hope this is all clear, and as with Dave Orford's Waltz last week, will add a little "spice" to the day.
Please enter your white ball scores on the HDIDIDO system as normal.
I already have half a dozen players keen to participate.
Good Luck!
best regards
Dick

Fowler Trophy 2024…Results

Good morning All

Attached are the results for yesterday’s competition.  The weather was hot, and with such a big turnout it was a little tense getting us all round the course without conflicting with the Red Socks or the Society visiting the Club in the afternoon, despite some groups taking upwards of 4 hours or more to complete their rounds.  (Newer Members should be aware that for planning purposes Sarah allocates each 3 ball, 1 hr 50 mins to complete each 9 holes to ensure players are deconflicted at the 10 hole – this should be reasonably generous.)

As you will see the Winners yesterday were Mark Collins playing off 22.9 (£20 and the Fowler bowl with a bottle of English champenoise), Christine Stevens HC 18.9 (£15) and Jack Riley 30.9 (£10).

The Front and Back 9 (£5) were one by Barry Keats and Geoff Rudd, respectively – well done all.

I hope to see you next Tuesday under the oversight of our Seniors’ Captain.

John
