Well reports from both players make clear that this one could've gone either way.
Ewan was 3 up at the turn and then 4 up after 10.
Steve then clawed back 2 holes to be just two down through 12.
and then the pivotal moment - Steve had a 2 footer on the 13th which would have brought him back to just 1 down, and with all the momentum.
Sadly for Steve the putt was missed and the momentum was lost.
Ewan recovered and pushed on to eventually win 4 and 3 - but what a match.
Well done to both!!
NB Ewan's journey was not an easy one - Tom Graziano, then Alastair Wardrop, then Neil Martin and finally Steve Sargeant - in World Cup terms that would have been the group of death!
