We have partnered with Rebellion Brewery to create some very attractive, personalised Christmas vouchers.  This could be the perfect gift for a golfing friend or relative who you may want to kick start back into golf or just have a friendly round with.

The Super Premium and Premium Golf Day Vouchers have proven to be our most popular. See below for details.

Simply pay at golf reception, over the phone or online via Paypal; then provide the personalised information via the 'contact us' form and we do the rest!

NB 1 Because it is a such a strong deal, we have restricted the offer to a maximum of 4 per household and one per individual.

NB 2 if the gift voucher is for a lady, we can offer a glass of wine or soft drink as an alternative.

We are closing the offer on Sunday 22nd December at midnight so if you are interested, please hurry 🙂

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve Texas Scramble – What a turn out!! Running order…

The BIG Christmas Golf event at Princes Risborough is the annual Texas Scramble which will be played next Tuesday, 24th December. We have 52 players signed up for this event which will be a shot gun start at 0900, 18 holes of team golf followed by a buffet lunch and prize presentations. All should be concluded by 1430 although the Christmas Bar will still be open-of course.

The batting order is below and I would ask all participants to be at the club for coffee and biscuits and full briefing at 0815 so we can ensure a prompt SGS at 0900.
There is space for one more team so if anyone else wants to play please advise Nick Shaw asap.

Best wishes

Toffs Xmas Bash – great event, great choir! Doug’s summary…

Yesterday was the Toffs Christmas Bash, attended by 30 ish Toffs and guests, together with a dozen ladies for tea and scones.
The final event consisted of a choir of children from Longwick C of E School, who sang carols and Christmas songs to the delight of the remaining Toffs and the ladies.
We were blessed with a cold but bright, sunny morning which enabled us to play 18 holes, as the course was virtually clear of frost. On a few  holes we played to temporary greens but this didn't spoil our enjoyment.
Winners were as follows:
Winner: Alan Caldicott - 40 points, won on countback from...
Second: Keith Mitchell - 40 points
Third: Jim Findlay - 39 points
Front nine: Doug Taylor - 22 points, countback, last 6.
Back nine: Alfons Walser - 20 points, countback, last 6
Nearest the pin on the 3rd and 12th: Barry Woledge - 5'-7"
Nearest the pin in 2 on the 4th and 13th: Mike Pool - 2'-4"
Team prize: Jim Findlay, Alfons Walser, David Yorke, Bernie Livett - 126 points, countback last 6 (45)
Guest Winner: John Tubb - 34 points
Thanks to Nick and his team, Tricia and her team and the greenkeeping staff, John and Jake, whose hard work enabled the day to be successful.
May you all have a great Christmas, We may see you before, especially if you are taking part in the Club Christmas Eve Texas Scramble. Teams of four so put your name on the sheet on the general board in the locker room.
Best wishes
Doug

Barry hands CBL reins to John Verrall after 15 years!!

Gentlemen
We participated in the first round of the CBL winter knock out last week and fell at the first hurdle with a 5.5 to 0.5 loss!! Congratulations to Jim Findlay and Dave Grolimund on securing the half and winning the PRGC money. The home and away format of the winter knock-out does not really suit us so this result is no surprise. So it's onwards and upwards to next years league.
The match schedule is below and included on the members calendar. I would ask that you get these dates in your diary as soon as possible. You will note from the schedule that we have 8 competitive league matches with the four other teams in our division: Aldwickbury Park, Stocks, Aylesbury Vale and Richings Park. We also have a return "friendly" CBL style match with Weston Turville. This match has been arranged in order to keep our match schedule at 10 as following the cessation of Aylesbury Park (HS2) and the temporary closure of Bushey Hall (development) the league has been reduced in size to three divisions of 5. I hope the return friendly will become part of the schedule going forward.
My final message concerns organisation. After circa 15 years I am handing over the management of the CBL to our immediate past Captain, John Verrall. In future, it will be John emailing you with requests for availability, selecting the teams and managing all the notification and logistics. I know I can rely on you all to respond to John in the same way you have with me. Organising these matches is not easy so an early response with availability (yes or no) is always very much appreciated.
That's all for now.
Best wishes
Barry
