Please click here for the must read details of how we plan to re-open the golf course in line with government guidance. Things are going to be much better than no golf, but very different to normal golf. It is essential that we get this right first time.

Membership Update 3 – Zero Touch Check-In
ZERO TOUCH - Safer - Faster Check-In For When we Re-open
In line with Government social distancing, we are introducing a new 'zero touch' process for golfers to check in. That's right, when we re-open you will no longer be required to fill in paper based forms at golf reception. Pull up your digital Membership Card on your mobile phone screen at golf reception and simply 'Show and Go'. We will log that you have checked in. NB don't worry if you have forgotten your phone - we can call up the membership card on our system.
New Zero Touch Digital Processes for PRGC
New Member Applications - will be online and include the creation of a digital Membership Card
Renewing Members Applications - will be online and we will renew your digital Membership Card (NB because we are starting the process with existing members without cards, we need to get these created ASAP)
Immediate Action:
We would like all existing members to create their digital Membership Card now please - simply click here.
Add your full name: Jack Nicklaus
Add a photo of yourself: Click the upload button and you can either take a selfie of yourself there and then or find a favourite in your files
Hit 'send' and you will be sent a new Membership Card by email
NB This Card Creation process is designed for new members so please ignore any reference to payment.
Next Steps:
When the Government re-opens golf courses, we will invite those out of contract to renew - no action required at the moment. Per the prior update - compensation for lost time due to the golf course closure will be deducted from your renewal fees where appropriate.
To see how the renewal form looks now - click here
Further updates on new processes will be sent over the next week or so, these will include:
- Booking Tee Times / Roll ups
- Process - from arrival at the club to leaving and going home (toilet facilities will be covered in this section)
- On and off course social distancing etiquette
How gorgeous does that look!
Whilst we are only doing essential work in terms of course maintenance and cutting at the moment, you can't stop a greenkeeper from taking pride in his work and his course. Thank you for these pictures John and for everything that you are doing to ensure that when the time is right, the course will be in great shape!!

PRGC Mens and Ladies Sections
Monthly Newsletter - March 2020
The observant amongst you will have noticed that this monthly briefing is now headed up “Men’s and Ladies Sections”. We think it’s time to get everyone together a bit more so ladies read on and you’ll learn about the men’s activities and your own, and guys – take a moment to see just how much golf the ladies play – weather permitting!
February
Who would have thought it!! Last winter it was the Beast from the East that created golf havoc. With the winds in the opposite direction, this year is it the Dump from Trump?? We have never experienced such heavy rain for such a protracted period of time and it is certainly keeping John and Jake on their toes (flippers??). Despite that, as of this writing the Men’s Seniors Stableford and Club Stableford were both played on the scheduled dates which is an achievement. And the ladies have finally caught up with their scheduled competitions too and have managed to play some informal morning games as well.
We have the Monthly Men’s Club Medal planned for the weekend 21, 22 and 23 February 2020, so fingers crossed we can get that delivered too.
Men’s Winter Eclectic
This competition is ongoing and there is still plenty of time to play in this competition which is based on submitting 10 designated cards over the winter period. Due to the poor weather we have decided to extend the closing date to 30th April so even more time to get the cards in. If you have not yet signed up, please do so, put your £5 in the eclectic box and get on and play in this our premier winter event. There is money to be won!!
RyderHeim Cup 2019
Not a typo as the observant amongst you will recall we had to cancel this event back in September 2019 due to anticipated inclement weather-which actually never appeared!! Clearly the deluge came later.
We were asked to find an alternative date and this is set for Saturday 28th March 2020. This is a fun day for ladies and gents, played in teams of four over 27 holes with a ploughman’s lunch and light buffet included. The Sunday Strollers ae still in possession of the magnificent Gold Cup and it is time to wrest it from them.
Sign up sheets are on the board so please sign up in teams or individually and let’s kick off 2020 with another great day on the golf course for all.
TOFFS and Ladies American Foursomes
It is that time of year when our sophisticated senior golfers join forces with our magnificent ladies to play in this unique golf event. The competition will be played on Thursday 12th March. There are still spaces available so TOFFS and ladies should sign up and play. The sign-up sheets are on the board.
BB&O Men’s Hillman Trophy Inter-Club Knock out
We have been drawn to play Chartridge Park in the preliminary round this year and this match will be played on Sunday 29th March 2020 with a tee off at 12 noon. This is singles match play golf and our team must consist of three group two players and four group three players. Our team is selected on merit so I will be looking at the medal and stableford results to ensure the “form” players are picked!
Last we reached the last 16 (out of circa 400 clubs who entered) so let’s see if we can improve this year.
Ladies’ Summer Competitions
Sign-up sheets are on the board for Ladies Summer Pairs and the Ladies Singles Knockout. These are always fun competitions so do please put your name down. Want more information? Then contact Jacqui Taylor.
The Hutley Cup
The Hutley Cup has been part of our golfing landscape for many years, bringing together both sections of our Club in a mixed knockout format. No partner? Don’t despair, the organizers will help you find the right person. So look on the noticeboards in the Locker Rooms and put your name down, or contact Jacqui Taylor for more information.
