New Verandah Approved by Planning

We are delighted to announce that the new verandah project (developed with and co-funded by England Golf) has been approved by the Wycombe Planning Team.  This will be built this spring (May).

This is a further Play Safe. Stay Safe initiative, enabling greater usage of the patio area between the bar and the orangery.

Know any ladies who want to get into golf or back into golf after a break???

England Golf are very keen to attract more women into golf and we are one of the first clubs to really get behind their new charter.

PRGC are making this incredible offer in the first instance to the lady friends of our membership.. Last year we successfully attracted 4 new lady members into the club and this year our target is to double that to 8!

Please ask your friends to contact us via the website Ladies Get Into Golf Contact Us Form - Princes Risborough Golf Club

We will extend the offer beyond our membership in mid February unless we have already taken on our target 8 new recruits 🙂

Thank you

ps this offer is only valid for new members.

Masks from Car Park to Course – Next Steps

We would like to thank all of our members and e-Player Card holders for their support for the new safety measures PRGC brought in during Tier 4.  Feedback was unanimously positive; it  made our golfers feel safer and helped them enjoy their experience just that little bit more.

When we return to Tier 4 or 3 in the near future we will be continuing with this Play Safe, Stay Safe strategy.

Just prior to lock down we had some supportive messages  prepared to act as helpful reminders...

  • On the paths leading to the 1st / 10th tees we have created 4 waiting areas - each enabling golfers to remain 2m apart
    - 1 and 3 are waiting areas for the 1st tee.
    - 2 and 4 are waiting areas for people feeding in from the 10th.  Masks at 2 and 4 are only required when the course is busy and there is a queue for the 1st.
  • After completing your round you are asked to wear your mask again as you leave the course and return to the car park.  We have also placed some reminder messages here.

Other measures to support this initiative are:

  • Mandatory Check In procedures on website
  • All appointment confirmations and reminder emails have a 'masks between car park and course' message.
  • Clear communication that the only 'social' is on the course not in the car park

We would like to particularly thank John White and the Friday Stableford team who initiated and trialled this on behalf of the club.  Another great example of what makes this club so special - going one step beyond wherever we can.

Qualifiers and Non Qualifiers in HDIDo

To enter a score into HDIDO you have two choices.  Qualifier or Non-Qualifier.

  • If you select Qualifier your score will be transferred at midnight from HDIDO (part of our Club V1 System) to the World Handicap System and your HI will be re-assessed overnight.  Remember the WHS looks at your top 8 performances in the last 20.  It is dynamic but won't change unless your best 8 are impacted.
  • If you select Non-Qualifier the information simply doesn't get transferred to the WHS and it won't impact your Handicap Index.

To be able to justify that your card is a Qualifier, there are some conditions...

  • For a normal 'Social (or Casual) Round' to count as a Qualifier, at least 8 in 9 or 16 in 18 holes must be on main greens - for the avoidance of doubt, if hole 4 is not in play on the front and back 9 then you can still submit a card as a Qualifier ie it is okay for 1 in 9 or 2 in 18 greens to be on temps.
  • Competition Rounds may be Qualifiers or Non- Qualifiers and you will be informed about this prior to the competition, along with what tees you are to play off and any other rules specific to that competition.

Qualifiers in HDIDO must not be confused with "Main Board Qualifying Competitions"

As you are aware to enter a Main Board Competition, Men must enter at least 6 Main Board Qualifying Competitions (used to be referred to as 'Qualifiers') eg Monthly Medals and Stablefords (Women and Seniors have to enter just 3)

Masks Between Car and Course Please

Feedback from e-card holders and members is that when golfers wear masks between their cars and the course, it makes everyone feel safer and enjoy their experience just that little bit more.

May we please therefore request all golfers to comply with this from now on - all members and all e-card holders please.

Please politely remind each other, but please do not fall out over it.  Remember not everyone is able to wear a mask.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and support - won't be long now.
