Princes Risborough and Aylesbury Vale played the first ever match between the two clubs in the Chiltern Breakfast League winter knock out this morning, Saturday 27 October. The winter KO format sees three matches played at home and three matches played away so as to ensure fairness all round.
Despite the frozen conditions, Bob Wilson worked hard to get the home course fit for play and our home team secured a 2:1 victory with Bob Darvill and Richard Aldridge winning 2&1 and Barry Woledge and Steve Wagerfield winning 1up. Richard Bennett and Craig Whitworth came up against two former PRGC stalwarts in Russell Crane and Andrew Ashcroft and did not fair so well.
Our away team lost 3:0 so overall we lost the match 4:2. No disgrace and we have the advantage that we can now rest our CBL team until Spring 2019.
We have had a good year in the CBL 2018 and can look forward to another successful year in 2019
