NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER FROM YOUR LADIES COMMITTEE

Hello Ladies

Another successful month in October, with only the Autumn Stableford being delayed by a week due to bad weather.  The Presentation Evening dinner on 22nd October was enjoyed by all, although our numbers were very small this year.  Winners of our various Club competitions during the year were presented with their trophies and prizes.  Well done to all the winners!

Winners of our competitions during the month were:

October Medal                    Melinda Pooley

Autumn Stableford            Geraldine Walker

Congratulations Ladies!

There were two Mixed Matches played during the month with a 3:2 win over Ivinghoe on 10th October and a halved match with Chartridge Park on 24th October.

Our new golfing year starts with our AGM on Tuesday, 2nd November at 7.00 pm in the clubhouse.  This will be our first AGM since 2019 and is a good opportunity to catch up on the last two years and hear any plans for the future.   PLEASE DO COME ALONG AND SUPPORT YOUR LADIES COMMITTEE.

COVID Protocol

In view of the recent local surge in cases the Club will be enforcing a mandatory “mask wearing” protocol when moving about the clubhouse.  Please do wear your masks.

Winter Rules will come into play as from Monday, 1st November. You may pick, clean and place your ball but only on the fairway and the mown surrounds of the green.

Bunkers in development -   If your ball lands in the sand it is in play.  The newly laid turf is GUR and if your ball is on the new turf, you must take full relief away from the bunker.  If your ball is in the sand but in such a position you would have to stand on the turf to play it, you are permitted to move and place the ball IN THE SAND to a point where you are also standing in the sand.  DO NOT play any shot with your feet on the newly laid turf.  Bunkers in development will remain GUR until Spring 2022.

Please repair any pitch marks and divots you make or find on the course, even if they are not yours.  Please rake bunkers after use ready for the next players.

If your ball lands in badger scrapings you are allowed full relief without penalty one club length from the edge of the disruption.

We hope to arrange a full and varied programme for you during the year.

Meantime, enjoy your golf and as always - PLAY SAFE – STAY SAFE
