JUNE NEWSLETTER FROM YOUR LADIES COMMITTEE
Hello Ladies
Well, we are now back in the swing of playing golf on a regular basis and our Wednesday morning golf has been very enjoyable – but the weather could have been kinder. It has been so wet and SO COLD! However, the sun has now shown its face and let us hope we have some good weather in June.
We have a full programme arranged for June and have 3 Ladies Mornings on 2nd, 16th and 23rd June. Sue Pomeroy, along with her team, will be organising the competitions on those dates. You should already have details of the Florida Scramble on 2nd June, and we are Waltzing on 16th June and playing Blind Holes on 23rd June.

We have 5 ladies signed up for Bruce’s Monday Morning Refresher Classes taking place on 14th, 21st and 28th June starting at 9.30. Bruce will be covering putting, pitching and bunkers. If anyone else would like to join please contact Jacqui on jacquitaylor217@gmail.com.
The Singles and Summer Pairs Competitions are progressing well. The second round of the singles should be played before 7th July and the semi-final of the Summer Pairs should be played by 11th August.

The friendly match v Chesham & Ley Hill on 14th June has now been cancelled.
The ladies’ championship consists of:
- The Barcilon Cup: a scratch event to find our Lady Champion golfer for 2021 and is played off the yellow tees
- The Handicap Championship: played off the yellow tees to 95% of club handicap to find our Handicap Champion
- The Dexter Trophies: these prestigious trophies are awarded to each of the three Divisional Winners
Those wishing to play in The Barcilon Cup must sign up beforehand using the online entry system which is available through the PRGC website. Closing date for entry is midnight on Wednesday, 23rd June.
Also, a reminder that on Monday, 28th June at 11.00 am Christine Bishop of the BCLGA will be visiting the club to talk to us about the new World Handicapping System.
Whilst on the subject of the handicapping system, 9-hole scorecards can now be processed on HDID.
Mark and John are managing the course on their own at present and it is anticipated that the bunkers will remain GUR until the end of the month, at which time the pins will again be moveable. Of course, this all depends on Covid restrictions being lifted on 21st June.
At the present time the changing rooms are closed and will remain so for the next few weeks.
Enjoy your golf in June ladies, but looking forward to July – please keep WEDNESDAY, 14 JULY free for our LADIES DAY and DINNER. Chris and Anne will be in touch in due course with details of menu, etc.
