FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER FROM YOUR COMMITTEE
Hello Ladies
As at this date we are still in lockdown and unable to play golf and it looks as though we will not be able to do so until the Spring. Even then there is likely to be restrictions in place which will necessitate many changes to the planned Fixture List for the rest of the 2020/21 season.
Sue Pomeroy has kindly offered to help out on the committee upon our return and this has been gratefully accepted. Initially she will be helping Jacqui organise the Wednesday informal golf mornings.
You may be wondering what is happening about our Ladies Golf Competitions this year.
The Committee have decided that it would be impossible to go ahead with the 2020/21 Winter Pairs and so have made the decision to cancel but will hold the names of the people who wished to play and take those forward to the Summer Pairs. The invite for the Singles, Summer Pairs and the Hutley Cup would normally be posted in the Locker Room during January but until we know more about when we can start playing and how many people can play together we feel we would be jumping the gun to start planning too soon. I am sure you are all eager to get back on the course and let’s hope we will have more information shortly.
No decision has yet been taken as to whether we will be entering the Chiiltern League this year. We are holding out on a decision until there is more definite news regarding the return to golf – and in what form. However, if we do not enter the league then hopefully we will be able to play many friendly matches against our local clubs.
As regards the course, the team have been very busy and upon our return to golf we will see a number of changes. The new 18th tee will be open for White, Yellow, Red and Blue tee blocks and one oddity about that will be the Overhead Power Lines! More about that when we are again able to play.
