APRIL NEWSLETTER FROM YOUR LADIES COMMITTEE
Hello Ladies
Although restrictions have now been removed by the Government, the pandemic is still with us so please be very careful at all times.
Results of our March competitions are:
5/12 March March Stableford – Winner: Rosie Brand
19/23 March March Medal – Winner: Jules Bendell
30 March Multiply Magic – Winners: Jules Bendell & Jacqui Taylor
Well done Ladies.
Due to weather and other golf commitments, the scheduled competitions on 2nd and 16th March were cancelled. However, we did enjoy a most enjoyable ladies lunch on 5 March - many thanks Trisha! We were joined by our Club Captain, Al Bowyer, who told us about his plans for the season, the first of which is BOP INTO SPRING on 1st April. Posters are displayed in the clubhouse and details are also available on the website. Do come along and start the year off with a swing!
The semi-finals and final of the Winter Pairs were played this month and the winning pair were Jill and Judy. Well done ladies, especially Judy for being a winner in the first competition she has entered since becoming a member.
Reminder regarding the PGA National Pro-Am Championship 2022.

Bunkers in development
The new turf is still Ground under Repair and out of play where the bunker is marked NT GUR. Please do not play off or stand on the new turf. A ball in the sand must be played from where it lies unless you will touch the turf with your stance or swing. If in doubt please check with Mark Tubb or John Harvey.
New rakes are now in place. Please rake the sand in bunkers after playing or walking in the sand to ensure that all players enjoy the same playing conditions.
Competition cards and general play cards submitted for handicap
This is a final reminder from the handicap committee. The new system is now well-established and there is no reason for cards to be completed incorrectly. The responsibility for the card being correct rests with the player. Plastic versions of Medal, Stableford and Bogey golf cards are available from Sarah for those who would like to keep one for a reference. In future, players will be disqualified if cards are not completed correctly.
Winter Rules
Winter rules and the need for hedgehog wheels will be removed from Friday, 1st April. As from that date you play the ball where it lies, unless you are in Ground Under Repair, in which case you take full relief. If there are instances of heavy spring rain the Club may introduce hedgehog wheels at short notice, so be prepared. If in doubt please ask Sarah for advice.
Enjoy your golf Ladies. Spring has arrived but it might not be too warm for the next couple of weeks!
