Our new Greenkeeping Consultant made an interesting observation regarding our greens.
The biggest challenge that we now face in terms of 'roll consistency' is unrepaired pitchmarks. At Beaconsfield, he said that there is a simple 'do unto others as you would have them do to you' mentality. The 4 ball ahead owes it to the 4 ball behind, the courtesy that they will not leave a bunker unraked, a divot on a Tee or a pitch mark on the green (created by themselves) unrepaired.
He says that we must do everything that we can to encourage this courtesy or reciprocity to return to PRGC... so here goes
As of this week we are handing out free pitch repairers to all members and visitors with the simple message that we owe it to each other to leave the course in the same condition that we found it.
