Purpose:
To encourage new people into golf by slowly building their confidence in 'how to play' and introducing them as an individual or within a group, to what it is like to belong to a great club like PRGC. NB they must be beginners and should have a genuine interest in learning to play and to joining the club.
The initial coaching is the first step towards being a club member; the customer service they receive and the sense of belonging and fun they achieve from playing with other members plays a massive part in their reasons for joining.
How it works:
You can join our Academy as either an individual, a couple or 4 ball (or larger group).
The Academy allows you to learn all of the core shots and techniques on our Academy Practice Ground, discretely. You will be coached by a Golf Pro within a 3/4 week period during which you are able to practice free of charge on our Academy Course, again discretely. 4 weeks after your first lesson you will be able to play free of charge on our championship course for 6 months if you sign up in either September or October and for 3 months if you sign up after March. The cost is £250 per head as an individual, £225 per head as a couple or £200 per head as a 4 ball. All proceeds go to the Pro, PRGC take no commission which is why it is such good value. Payment is direct to the Pro.
As an individual you receive; 1 x 60 minute lesson and 4 x 30 minute lessons, a 9 hole playing lesson on the course, and then 2 x 30 minute additional lessons to work on core development areas (taken during your free period).
As a pair, you receive lessons as a pair; 1 x 60 minute and 5 x 45 minute lessons, a 9 hole playing lesson as a pair and then 2 x 30 minute additional lessons as a pair
As a 4 ball you receive group lessons; 5 x 60 minute lessons, a group 9 hole playing lesson and then 2 x 30 minute additional group lessons.
Please note that the lesson timing and structure will be tailored with the pro to best meet the needs of the learner/s. It may be for example that some lessons become 1 hour rather than 2 x 30 minute lessons.
All players must sign an application form with Nick. They will receive a membership card (marked Academy) and all paperwork must be signed by the player and the pro before they join the Academy.
If they want a handicap they must pay an affiliation fee of £25 to England Golf via PRGC. This will also provide them with Public Liability insurance for whichever golf course they play on in the UK.
An additional benefit is that should they join PRGC, they automatically receive the loyalty discount price.
