Our team played Chesfield Downs on Saturday 11 November in the first round of the Chiltern Breakfast League winter Knock Out. With a format of three matches at home and three away this is different to our normal league fixtures. Our away team put in a sterling performance with superb wins for Bob Darvill and Steve Wagerfield (1 Up) and Barry Woledge and Craig Whitworth (3&1). Chesfield Downs is a tough course and this 2:1 away win is virtually unheard of in the league so the guys did really well. Unfortunately “fortress PRGC” did not apply this time and our home team lost all three matches. Overall we lost 4:2 so no disgrace.
The league restarts in April 2018 with a home match against Three Locks so all the focus is now on the new season. The matches are open to all members with an active handicap so those wishing to play and not yet included should contact the Competition Secretary, Barry Woledge.
