JULY Schedule

THE WINNERS CIRCLE

THE BARCILON CUP AND HANDICAP CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP:

We played this 36-hole event over the weekend 25/26 June. The turnout of 30 players in total was disappointing but did not lessen the nature of our premier golf weekend.

The greenkeeping team produced an excellent course with firm fairways, challenging rough, fast greens and the usual championship pin positions! The weather decided to remain but the wind did get up somewhat which made the two days a stern test for all golfers. Our winners are:

  • Ladies Barcilon Cup winner and Champion Golfer: BEX LOWRY
  • Men’s Barcilon cup winner and Champion Golfer: CLIFF PEARCE
  • Men’s Barcilon Cup handicap Champion: DAVID ORFORD
  • Men’s Barcilon Cup runner up: LUKE TUBB

Congratulations to all who participated and in particular our four principal winners. A special mention to David Orford who produced the third best GROSS score on Sunday with an outstanding 83 in tough conditions.

This closed competition played between the past Captains took place on 16 June. Our immediate past Captain Craig Whitworth won with our current Captain Al Bowyer picking up the committee prize.
