MARCH UPDATE

COVID PROTOCOL

HMG will be removing all restrictions in England. On the course this means:

  • Flags are back in the hole
  • All bunkers are back in regular play and rakes are back in the bunkers
  • Bunkers in development will remain GUR until 01 April at the earliest so you must still take relief if your ball is in the new turf or you have to stand in the new turf

Please watch out for advice from PRGC Ltd on required future clubhouse protocols

CLUB KNOCK OUT COMPETITIONS 2021

PGA NATIONAL Pro-Am CHAMPIONSHIP 2022

As in previous years we have entered this, the most prestigious Pro-Am competition in UK golf. We will be playing our domestic qualifying medal competition on Saturday 23rd July and the winner will play with Bruce Loome in a regional qualifying competition at Broadstone GC on Tuesday 13th September. Win that and our pair will be off to Antalya for the grand finals in November.

This is a mixed event open to men and ladies with a maximum handicap index for men of 28 and ladies 36.

The entry system has changed and this year, and those members participating in our domestic qualifier on 23rd July, are required to sign up and pay their entry fee of £3 in advance directly to the PGA. You will shortly receive a letter from Bruce with details and a link to the PGA website to enable you to sign up. I appreciate this is somewhat early but if you plan to play in this event please do sign up as soon as you can.

In accordance with the rules of the tournament the playing order for our domestic qualifier will be mixed men and ladies playing in three balls and it will be a random draw. The regular Saturday events will be subsumed by this PGA qualifying competition on this day.

Please read Bruce's post here and sign up with the PGA without delay.

BUNKERS

These are all now back in full play and rakes are in the bunkers. The local exceptions are as follows:

  • Bunkers in Development: the new turf remains GUR until the Spring so please do play off or stand on the new turf
  • Hole 2 and Bob Wilson’s Tree: this work is almost complete and the GUR will be removed in the near future. The new turf rules will still apply until Spring
  • Green 4 bunker complex: this work is also nearly complete and the GUR will be removed in the near future. The new turf rules will still apply until Spring

If In doubt please check with Mark Tubb or John Harvey
