Please find below the results schedule from the nine hole championship held last Friday.
A small but very select field entered what is arguably the toughest competition we run at PRGC. Playing the 9 most difficult holes in succession is a challenge at the best of times and the more so in the heat last Friday. Very well done to all who participated and I trust enjoyed the event.
The winner with an outstanding 20 points is Steve Sargeant. Literally hot on his heels (well OK, not quite) were myself and Pete Smith on 18 points. Steve will get his name on the 9 hole championship board along with the past winners Mark Tubb and Paul Gerrard. Before that can happen I have to recover the board from Mick the Trophy man where it has been held since lock down so that may take a while yet!!
In due course you will all receive a note from me with a request to pay entrance fees to the main club competitions held thus far and this will include the Nine hole championship.
Finally a word of sympathy. Our treasurer Steve Williams was unable to play as his playing partner had to go to WORK!! And for John Stephenson!! After a blistering start where he gross birdied the first and then net birdied holes 2 and 3 John either got over excited or over heated!! 10 points after three holes and only 5 thereafter says it all. Better luck next year John.
Once again, many thanks for taking part.
Seniors medal tomorrow and Club Stableford this coming weekend.
Best wishes
Barry
