Message from Jack, Head Greenkeeper
Lots of prep work taking place on the course at the moment ahead of spring including:
- Greens: receiving protective fungicides and fertiliser to protect them through the harsh winter conditions.
- Tees: being protected as much as possible during the severe wet weather from becoming unrecoverable 'Sunday league football goal mouths'. Plus work taking place to slightly widen the 6th tee.

- Buggy paths: investment in buggies and buggy paths is an important part of our strategy, enabling members to extend their playing years and to be able to play all year round using a buggy. As part of this strategy, a new woodchip buggy path is being introduced along the fence line of the 7th tee to the 18th green and the paths around the 1st and 6th tees have been enhanced.
- Bunkers: Sand top ups have already been completed on the 1st (green side), 5th (green side) and 4th (green side).
- Fence lines: being tidied along the railway side of the 2nd and 7th.
Importantly, to support our learning culture at the club we are renovating the practise net area (a temporary solution is in place for the time being). We are also prepping the greens, approaches and bunkers on the practise area so they are in the best possible condition for the peak season.
