Ladies at PRGC

Lady Captain’s May 2025 Update

Why it's so different at PRGC

PRGC is not just another golf club.  We are different and proud of it; we took the best elements of traditional golf clubs and rejected the worst. Traditional clubs are often stuffy, old fashioned and carry an air of exclusivity.   PRGC was founded as a bold rejection of the idea that golf is only for the privileged, the elite, those obsessed with hierarchy, or that see themselves above others.

Circa 35 years ago, a group of passionate golfers set out to build something better—something inclusive, welcoming, and built on equality, camaraderie, and fun. And today, the need for that spirit is stronger than ever. Yes, we have rules and guidelines, but they exist to enhance the experience, not stifle it. Our approach is progressive, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the game in its true spirit.

Breaking Down Barriers for Women in Golf

We believe golf should be for everyone, male/ female, young or old and not just for those who feel confident from the start.  Working with England Golf, we are dismantling the myths that keep people from picking up a club:

- "I will be slow and embarrassing" – We’ve all been there. No judgment, just encouragement. 🙂

- "It will take me ages to learn" – Not true! You’ll be surprised how quickly you progress with the right coaching and practise

- "I won’t have anyone to play with" – You’ll make friends before you know it.

- "I won’t have time" – Golf can be more flexible than you think, and there are ways to fit it into your life.

- "It will cost a fortune, and I may change my mind" – Nope! We make it accessible so you can enjoy the journey without financial stress.

Beyond the game itself, PRGC is a gateway to incredible physical and mental health benefits, offering a space where people feel supported, motivated, and free to enjoy golf on their own terms.
