What a Men's Club Championship!!
The Class of '26 featured in a completely new format ... and what a day!
The PRGC Club Handicap Championship - Men
A shotgun start for 30 players, all competing over 18 holes, on the White Competition Tees @ 95% of handicap.
It was an incredibly tight competition with an unbelievably tight bunching at the top with just 3 shots dividing the top 10.
Alf Dobosz finally triumphed with a net score of 69 - one over par - on a very warm and challenging course. Congratulations Alf! and to all those who fought so hard to win!
Aaron Taylor won the Divisional Handicap comp with a net score of 70 - again a massive well done.
Toby Casella thumped a wonderful Longest Drive on 11th and Daryl Ridgway crafted a delightful nearest the pin on the 12th - well done to both of you.
The PRGC Gross Championship - the Barcilon Cup
The top 8 gross scores over the opening 18 holes made the cut for the Barcilon Cup play off over an additional 9 holes; the hardest on the course - the Black Nine.
Another ridiculously close competition over 27 hard fought holes - what a championship!!
Ewan Millar led by just one shot over the first 18 with Alf one shot behind and Luke Tubb and Trevor Bunting needing just 3 shots to catch up on the final 9.
The hardest holes created a tense finish with Luke and Trevor both clawing a shot back on Ewan, but it was not quite enough on the day.
Ewan won with a total gross score over 27 holes of 123, with Alf, Luke and Trevor equal second on 125 shots
What a finish and what a club championship!
Thank You
It was a new format and we would like to thank all of the Class of '26 for their support and passion - you made this the competition that it was - thank you.
Thank you also to all those that helped make the day such a success...
The Green keeping team for bringing the course to such a great condition in the most challenging of heatwaves. Jack, Evan and Gordon.
The Clubhouse team for all the hard yards both behind the scenes, organising and setting up the event, and front of house on the day. Thank you Sarah, Richard, Bronnie, Inara and Charlie
But also thank you to the people who helped transition the Club Champs into a more inclusive event, for positively encouraging the club to innovate and bring new ideas to the table. A special mention to Phil Sloan, Sarah Tietjen and Luke Viney for all the thought that went into designing the day.
As ever we will gather all the learning and we look forward to next years comp ... and the Class of '27
Thanks again - you were the class of '26 and some new legends will now proudly have their names on the Board!!
