Barcilon This Saturday!! Guide to Players and Supporters

Whilst we have had a massive increase in numbers year on year we regret that we lost some competitors who had to work the Saturday am to make up for lost hours during the heat wave.

Thank you for letting us know in good time - genuinely much appreciated.

For the 'Class of '26' - the first to compete in the Club Championship in its new format - we are genuinely grateful for the excitement and enthusiasm you have shown - we love it - you make the job of running the event an absolute joy!  thank you for such a great vibe!

What is at Stake:

There are 5 Trophies

Best overall Handicap Winner ( A new trophy being commissioned this year)

Best in 'other' Division (explained later)

Best Gross Score over 27 holes - the Barcilon Cup (explained later)

Longest Drive -Hole 11

Nearest the pin - Hole 12

The Handicap Winner - How it works

Everyone enters the PRGC Handicap Cup

White Tees @ 95% of handicap

(Net or) Handicap Cup is split into two divisions.

The Winner of the overall Handicap Cup is the golfer with the lowest net score.

The Divisional winner is the highest competitor from the 'other' division.

For the avoidance of doubt if the overall winner comes from Division 1 (-10 to 18.9 handicap) then the 'other' divisional winner goes to the winner of division 2 (19+ handicap).
If the overall winner comers from division 2 then the 'other' divisional winner trophy will go the winner within division 1.

The winner of the gross (Barcilon Cup) cannot also win the Handicap Cup.

How it Works Gross Winner - The Barcilon Cup

Stage one - Top 8 gross scores from the Handicap Cup (first 18 holes) make the cut and qualify to play the Black Course - the hardest 9 holes on the course.

Stage two - Top 8 go out in pairs in buggies and play the Black 9

Lowest gross score across all 27 holes is the winner.

Simple and exciting as that!!!!

Good luck everyone and thank you in advance to all the supporters!!!!
