Some golfers mistakenly think that just going up the range to 'get their eye in' is the answer. Sadly, this is not the case. What happens is that you develop and embed bad habits. The right answer to increasing your enjoyment and improving your game is to combine coaching with practise. Learn how to play the shot correctly and then practise what you have learned.
70% of Practise Time on Short Game
Another challenge for amateur golfers is that they place the greatest emphasis on distance rather than their short game. However, top golfers and coaches agree that this is holding them back. They conclude that about 70% of your score is decided by how good you are with your short game shots! That's right 70%!! That number alone should motivate golfers to work more on their pitching, chipping and putting skills.
At Princes Risborough Golf Club we decided to do something about this and we built a purpose built practise area to Bruce Loome's specification.
