Bruce Loome's School of Golf offers a broad coaching curriculum for golfers of all levels.  Face to face coaching during the season is reinforced with video 'nudges of the rudder' during the winter if required.

From the 'Ultimate Learning Package' of 6 x 30 ( or 60) minute lessons, to individual or group lessons, to specialised 'smart shot' coaching, to coaching the juniors.

Bruce coaches in 'real conditions' - real grass, real balls, real sand, on a purpose built practise area at PRGC and on the main Championship Course depending on the shot being coached.

The mantra is simple - learn the right shots and then practise, practise, practise!  There is no point in going up the range to practise or to 'get your eye in' if you haven't learned how to play the shot correctly in the first place - it is as simple as that.

6 x 30 (or 60) Minute 'Ultimate Learning Package'

Bruce's unique backward chaining coaching package:

Session 1: Putting

Apart from being arguably the most important part of the game, it is vital that we learn to putt correctly with little or no use of the hands. Once we learn this correct technique it will allow us to judge distance better and make putting much more consistent. It will also sew the seed of mastering the next skill, chipping, where once again we don’t want the hands to work too much during the chipping stroke.

Key skills;
• Grip / Stance and posture / Stroke / Judging pace and line / Skills challenges

Session 2: Chipping

Learning the chipping technique can be made much easier if the putting skill has been learnt and practiced. Putting and chipping are extremely similar with only the address position changing.

Key Skills;
• Grip / Stance and posture / Stroke / Judging pace and line / Skills challenges

Sessions 3: Pitching

Pitching is the next key skill to learn and it is a natural follow on from the two skills already learnt.
The swing now begins to get longer and because of this we must start to introduce the hands into the technique and swing.

Key Skills;

  • Grip / Stance and posture / Swing / Judging distance
Session 4: Full Swing

With the first three skills under our belt, progressing onto the full swing will not be as difficult and will be a natural progression.
Now we must learn and practice a fuller more athletic swing using arms, body and hands in unison. There are many moving parts in the full swing and the timing of this sequence is something that must be coached and practiced.

Key Skills;
• Grip / Stance and posture / Aiming and Alignment / Full Swing / Swing Drills

Session 5: Full Swing Continuation

More coaching and practice on the full swing with emphasis on the use of different clubs and swing drills. Bunker shots will also be covered in the 5th session.

Key Skills;
• Shot Shaping / Shot Elevation / Swing Drills / Bunker shots

Session 6: On-course Experience

A culmination of the previous five weeks coaching put into practice on the golf course. This will give you the opportunity to put all you have learnt into practice. The professional will be with you throughout.

Key Skills Embedded;
• Putting / Chipping / Pitching / Full Swing / Course knowledge / Scoring
