The men of Princes Risborough completed the Chiltern Breakfast League season with a disappointing defeat at Westin Turville on Saturday 15th September. The Weston Turville course was as it always is at this time of year, rather hard and dry but given the summer we have had this is pretty much the norm at the moment. The greens had been treated and were significantly slower than those at PRGC and indeed the greens experienced by our winning mixed team only three weeks ago. This caught the team out with only Steve Smith and Dave MacKenzie coming to terms with the conditions.
As ever the match was played in the right spirit and Weston Turville provided an excellent breakfast and light lunch in their recently modernised clubhouse. The men of Princes Risborough were all resplendent in their new team shirts sourced by John Verrall and very handsome (and comfortable) they were too!
Princes Risborough have enjoyed a very successful CBL 2018 being unbeaten at home and securing the away draw at Mill Green. The wider away form has however been patchy and for CBL 2019 this is the area we will have to improve.
The season is not quite over as we now have the CBL Challenge Cup and Gala day at Richings Park on Sunday 21st October followed by our first ever match with Aylesbury Vale in the first round of the Winter Knock out on Saturday 27th October. So the season is not quite over yet
